The world is full of wonders—take the leap with friends by your side and make every trip an adventure.
As planned, the six of us were invited on a tour to Tagaytay with PNU lecturers; Ma'am Vicky and Ma'am Dhana. After preparing for the final demo the day before, my shoulders felt a little lighter, and I was ready for this exciting tour!
Our first mode of transportation to Tagaytay was the LRT. We walked from PNU hostel to the LRT station at United Nations Avenue, then rode the train for about 15 minutes. Afterward, we arrived at a bus stop and continued our journey by bus. The bus ride was longer, around an hour, but I managed to enjoy the bustling views of Manila since I had a window seat. Finally, after the bus ride, we arrived at McDonald's to have breakfast and wait for Ma'am Cheers and her husband, who would take us on to Tagaytay.
After breakfast, Ma'am Cheers and her husband picked us up. On our way to Tagaytay, we stopped at Nuvali to take in the beautiful lake view. There were so many fish! They also had boats for visitors to ride, and, fortunately, Ma'am Dhana offered to pay for us to take a ride. It was a short ride—only about 5 minutes—but it was so much fun! After enjoying the lake, we continued our journey to Tagaytay.
Our first destination in Tagaytay was Sky Ranch, a popular amusement park known for its scenic views of Taal Volcano and Taal Lake. Thankfully, the lecturers also covered the entrance fee. Sky Ranch had a Ferris wheel, zipline, carousel, horseback riding, and various game and food stalls. We decided to try one amusement ride: the pirate ship.
It was my first time on a pirate ship ride, and oh my gosh... it felt like my life was on the line! It was terrifying when we reached a 90-degree angle, especially because we sat at the end of the ship, making it even scarier. But, despite the fear, it was a fun experience!
After the ride, we took lots of pictures of the beautiful scenery and, of course, of ourselves. The photos turned out great! I also bought some keychains at the souvenir stall, or pasalubong, for my family and friends in Indonesia.
Our next stop was lunch at Jaytee's Filipino Cuisine in Tagaytay. The Filipino dishes were delicious and tasted somewhat similar to Indonesian food, though I think Indonesian dishes have a bit more seasoning. And the view from the restaurant was stunning—it felt like we were dining in another world. Naturally, we took more beautiful pictures!
After lunch, we headed to our final destination in Tagaytay, Twin Lakes. The view here was similar to Sky Ranch and Jaytee’s, but it featured a quaint little housing complex that made it feel like a scene from a painting. I took plenty of pictures and videos to capture the dreamlike atmosphere.
As it got close to 4:00 PM, we started our journey back. We rode with Ma'am Cheers and her husband until we stopped for a quick dinner at Burger King. After saying goodbye to them, we caught a bus and rode until around 9:30 PM. We were supposed to take the LRT for the final leg of our trip, but it was already closed, so Ma'am Dhana guided us to take a Jeepney, which finally brought us back to the hostel.
It was a long and tiring day, but the beautiful views and the fun we had together made every moment worth it.
So, that’s all about our tour in Tagaytay! I’m calling this entry Swinging in Tagaytay because that pirate ship ride was definitely the highlight of the day! HAHA XD. See you in my next post, which will be about my final demo. Wish me luck!
